The story

Boards I can stand behind

A joiner needs boards that won't move a month later. That is why every board has been kiln-dried to a proper schedule, and I guarantee a moisture content of 8–10%.

The photos show only my own boards from stock — no borrowed pictures. Chestnut can be lighter or darker, and it is the same wood; I deliberately showed the most contrasting boards so you can see the full range.

About the species

Sweet chestnut Castanea sativa

Sweet chestnut is a tree of the Western Caucasus and the Black Sea coast, an heir to the ancient Colchis forests. Its wood resembles oak: bold growth rings, a warm honey tone and plenty of tannins, so chestnut tolerates moisture well and lasts for decades. Old trees often have a hollow heart — and those trunks give the most striking rounds.
