The story

Two Trunks, One Tabletop

Sometimes two trunks grow from a single root and fuse together over the years. On a cross-cut this shows as two centres of rings embraced by shared bark, a figure eight no one could invent.

The round was flattened on a router sled, and resin in two colours was poured around it to emphasise its shape rather than compete with it.
